Application methods of Zero Valent Iron (ZVI) Aggregate in environmental remediation processes.

Here’s a brief explanation of each:

  1. Pumping & Fracking: This refers to the process of injecting ZVI Aggregate into the ground under high pressure. This can cause the ground to crack or fracture (hence the term “fracking”), creating pathways for the ZVI to reach and neutralize contaminants.
  2. Drilling: This involves creating boreholes or wells in the ground to reach contaminated areas. The ZVI Aggregate can then be introduced into these boreholes to treat the contamination.
  3. Injection: This is a method of delivering ZVI Aggregate directly into the contaminated area. The ZVI is typically mixed with water or another carrier fluid and then injected into the ground through wells or injection points.
  4. Trenching: This involves digging trenches in the contaminated area and filling them with ZVI Aggregate. The trenches serve as a barrier that can capture and treat contaminants as they move through the ground.

These methods are used to ensure that the ZVI Aggregate can reach and interact with the contaminants effectively, thereby enhancing the remediation process.

This is a type of concrete that is made with heavy aggregates, such as steel shot or Cold Forge Nuggets, to increase its density, weight and stregth.

This type of concrete is used in various applications, including

Radiation Shielding consist of using steel shot in concrete that then act as a radiation shield to protect the environment from nuclear waste.

Some Steel shot sizes and shapes could be a byproduct of the steel shot manufacturing process and may be readily available at a relatively low cost. In addition, the use of steel shot in heavy concrete can provide a more sustainable solution for waste management, as it helps to recycle a material that would otherwise be discarded as waste.
